August 7-11, 2017, sponsored by China Overseas Group, co-organized by Hong Kong charity organization "Kindly", sponsored by the China Overseas Caring Foundation, hosted by China Overseas Property East China, and supported by China Overseas Commercial, a large-scale youth cultural exchange event "Children Dreaming Together" The 2017 "China Overseas" Mainland-Hong Kong Student Summer Camp was successfully held. A total of 83 teachers and students from 11 China Overseas Hope Primary Schools in the Mainland, teachers and students from Changzhoutang Jinjiang Primary School of the Church of Christ in Hong Kong, and children of the owners of China Overseas in East China participated in the event.
This event is the eighth summer camp jointly organized by China Overseas Group and Kindness, which is held in Nanjing, the ancient capital of the Six Dynasties. In five days, all the participants performed a number of non-competitive games and tasks in groups, completed the "Little Adventurer" fun team challenge and the "Historical and Cultural Quest" guided tour experience. The children learned unity and sharing, respect and Cooperate, know how to appreciate and accept different people, and try to build a diverse society together. The event also organized the training of "inclusive teaching methods" for the teachers along with the team, and the relevant colleagues of the responsible units of each Hope Primary School also had a lively discussion on the group's social responsibility work.
On the afternoon of August 11, the summer camp held a short and warm closing ceremony in Zhonghai Huanyu City, Nanjing. Qian Jihong, former member of the Standing Committee of the Nanjing Municipal Party Committee, Director of the United Front Work Department, and Director of the Municipal Committee for Concern for the Next Generation, Wang Hui, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Committee of the Youth League, Zhou Qinghu, Supervisor of China Overseas Group and Chairman of the Friendship Association, Assistant General Manager of China Overseas Group and Vice President of the Friendship Association Liu Weimin, Qiu Jingshan, Chairman of the "Friendly" Executive Committee, and relevant persons in charge of Nanjing Customs Committee, Youth League Committee, Gulou District Education Bureau, East China District of China Overseas Property, Nanjing Company, and China Overseas Commercial attended the event. The guests and the children reviewed the wonderful moments of the five-day event through video clips and witnessed the growth and transformation of the children. The awards of the event were presented on the spot, and AED campus first aid equipment boxes were presented to schools. Finally, the officiating guests completed the "community campus" puzzle symbolizing "openness and acceptance, equal participation, learning and appreciation", and passed the concept of "community" to everyone in the audience. Participants expressed that they had broadened their horizons and gained friendship during the summer camp, and they would bring back this experience and memories for more dissemination and sharing.
